Fairy/Cinderella Pumpkin

We raised this fairy pumpkin in our garden. What a delight to see it grow to be this big. It was the only one of the fairy pumpkin variety to produce. Looks like Cinderella's coach!

Pumpkin Time in Texas

This pic was taken about 3 years ago at a quaint B & B outside of Waco, Texas called "The Farm." I just love pumpkins!

This old rusted door knob just seems to say, "Do Not Enter." I found it on an old building deep in the pasture!

Back from a Day of Thrifting

This Samsonite beauty has lots of possibilities. She could house some thrifting treasures or she would look nice under the entry hall table or she could travel with me to Circleville, Texas!

Bathing Beauties of the Deep

I've been working on mermaids this summer in preparation for a show centered around these beauties of the deep. The little doll may become a mermaid overnight....she just doesn't know it just yet!

Looking for Water

We awoke this morning to find this huge soft shell turtle in a puddle of rain water on our patio. We have been so parched here in Central Texas and stock tanks are drying up. We did get about 1/2 inch of wonderful rain yesterday. This big fella must have been looking for water. He had about a pound of mud on his back...must have been a heavy load to carry. I'll say this...he was centainly determined.

Charm Swap Treasures

Several months ago I entered a Charm Swap sponsored by the great magazine "Cloth Paper Scissors". These are the five charms I received in return for the five I submitted to the swap.
I love them all and can't wait to add them to a necklace or bracelet.

Farm Fresh Onions - Texas Produce

Farm fresh onions are the best. Especially when you can walk right outside your back door and pick one anytime you need it! They go great with farm fresh squash, tomatoes, peppers or cucumbers. I love to use them to make my "labor intensive" canned salsa.....an all afternoon event!

Beautiful goddess! Great material for a future creation!

Actually she would be perfect overseeing the orchard or garden! Found her in sunny Houston after lunching on shrimp tacos at Cha Cho's! Yummy!

Thrifting Treasures

I just love to go thrifting. These wonderful treasures were just waiting for me to snag them yesterday! And among my "finds" was this fabulous antique book titled "The Great Galveston Disaster" which was published in 1900....the year of the devastating hurricane. Our family spent many a summer vacation on Bolivar Penisula just a ferry ride across the bay from Galveston. After hurricane Ike in 2008 nothing remains on Bolivar........so very sad.

Look Who's Driving

Look who was driving the pickup when I stopped to get gas the other day. Just as I started to snap the pic she decided to move over to the passenger side of the truck. The little grandpa pumping gas next to me said her name is Baby.
