In The Pink! Obsessed with Wool Roses! Happy Pink Saturday

I guess you could say I'm obsessed with these little wool flowers. Last night I spent some time experimenting with Rite dye to see what would happen if I boiled some pieces of a yellow sweater in a red dye solution!  Like magic the color changed to a pinkish hue.  The little burgundy rose and leaf were part of a blue floral sweater.  When I dyed them in the red solution the existing blue dye in the sweater mixed with the red and created this beautiful burgundy color!  What a nice surprise.  This wonderful rainy day in Texas, I am working on my little pins to wear on knitted scarves and shawls.  Stop by and see what the Pink Saturday gang is doing today by clicking  HERE !

Blue Monday - Love Letters

Ahhh! Love letters sent so very long ago!

Written to that one true love and mailed from some far away place.

They lead one to imagine what the lovers might have been corresponding about.  Makes me blue today just wondering!  But then again,,,perhaps they were joyous letters about upcoming weddings or births or happy reunions.  Or maybe he is writing to tell her how beautiful she looked in her fluffy blue prom dress that spring in 1964.
We are left to ponder these thoughts this Blue Monday!

Pink Saturday - The Kiss

Happy Pink Saturday Everyone!  I've been making valentines today using copies of vintage photos from my stash.  I call this one "The Kiss".  Don't you just love the way he's about to "lay one on her" and his other girlfriends are watching?

And this darling little couple just makes me laugh. She's so happy to have her sleek new car as her Valentine gift!  Kinda reminds me of the time Hunky Jones gave Francine a new vacuum cleaner for Christmas!  No comparison, really! She was not too happy.  But I guess it was a token of his love!

WOYWW! Wool Flower Pins

Time flies when you're having fun and that's what happened to me! Happy Pink Saturday everyone!  I had the good fortune yesterday to travel to far north east Texas to the monthly Trade Days Market in Canton, Texas!  My friends and I saw so many delicious things and so much wonderful junk!
